The One of the Best Outcomes of Taking Good Care of Yourself Is That You Start To Feel Happier And Since Feeling Happy Is A Choice You Make Every Day It’s A Great Place to Begin Our Year of Self Care.

Are you a glass half full or half empty person? This is a great example to illustrate that there are often two sides to any story and that you have a choice in how you view things. And that choice in turn determines how happy you feel. Happiness then becomes a choice you make every single day.

You can choose to see the glass as half empty, focus on the fact that you’re almost done drinking that nice glass of sparkling, spring water. With that attitude, you’re more likely to feel a little depressed about your experience of drinking the water. If on the other hand you focus on the fact that the glass is still half full and you have plenty of yummy, fresh, tingling, healthy water to sip on, your mood improves and you’re increasing your happiness.

When you look at it that way, happiness really is a conscious choice you make, at least to a point. From what I’ve been reading 40% off your happiness is directly affected by how you think and how you choose to feel. Over the coming weeks I will post here on the blog tips, advice, and strategies to help you make a conscious decision to be happier. In fact it is about more than happiness — it is about feeling more content, suffering and struggling less, feeling better about yourself and life. And it all starts with your intention, attitude readiness.

Are you ready to join me?

It is OK if you are not — it might work better for you if you check out the posts and pick up on the odd idea and try it out. I am willing to bet good money that in the end you will have changed to a point of readiness to commit to a life, attitude and intention of being happier, more content and open to life.

If you are ready — welcome, welcome, welcome. I am here for you.

It takes time and daily conscious decisions to change habits and how we approach life. That’s where the challenge comes into play. The idea is that you have a consistent reminder here on the blog each week to help you remember to make that choice. Of course there will also be plenty of helpful content on the topic of self care and personal happiness in the posts too.

At the end of the year, I hope you will have formed new habits, new ways of thinking, and new ways to look at each situation as it arises. With a little shift in thinking and perception, you can definitely craft a happier, more fulfilling life for yourself. My wish is that the series here will be an essential support for you as you make the shift.

This is a series for people who support other people such as coaches and therapists, pastors and carers.

People who are passionate about their work and their clients but struggling to find a way to feel as positive as they want to in our Covid world.

People who have realised that they need support too.

This is a time when most of us are scared. Nothing is known or predictable and we need to call on reserves of creativity, energy and hope to get by and get on.

We can do that — and we need to do it together. This is not a time to be a Lone Ranger, coping and getting by on your own. It is a time to reach out and ask for help, get help and give help — then flourish and thrive.
