Pivot Your Practice To Flourish in The Future — How to Promote and Sell Your Coaching & Therapy Services Without Feeling Sleazy
Promoting products and services online is a great way to earn money and one of the ways that you are most likely to choose as your pivot your practice. There are many different products and services out there to promote, and along the way you’re likely to create your own as well.
What you choose to start with depends on the approach you are taking to pivoting. You may want a ‘side hustle’ which would bring in a second income stream and not necessarily be anything to do with your coaching or therapeutic work. That can give you an interesting and lucrative hobby and a break from the intensity of the work we do whilst also bringing you money. Typically with this approach to pivoting people would sell network marketing products or make things and sell the results of their creative talents.
Another alternative is to make your own and/or to find other people’s products to supplement your work and bring extra value to your clients. Whichever approach you choose make sure you chose top notch products that you use personally and can really, truthfully, authentically recommend. That way you can be honest and helpful about them to others.
When you create something of your own, make it the best you are capable of.
If you do these things you will find that the promotion and marketing is far easier and won’t feel sleazy at all. You have to know in your heart that you are providing value and that your purchasers will truly benefit from what you are providing.
Create Top Notch Products
Create a real honest to goodness product or service that solves problems for your audience in a way that no one else can. If you do that you’re going to feel great about promoting it to others in multiple ways, because you’ll be proud of it.
Find & Use Other Peoples Products Prior to Promotion
If you promote other people’s products or services, it’s not just important — it is vital to try out the products and find them truly useful in your own life.
Also to find out what they don’t do so well and why — and have found a way round that!
Any potential purchaser will sense your lack of personal experience with a product if you haven’t really lived with it! And that will have a very negative impact on how they feel about buying from you. And how authentic and positive you will feel about selling it to them! If you want to move forward more quickly on promoting other people’s products rather take a look at your life now and see what is really helping YOU. Then find out if you can be an affiliate for that product of service and recommend it to your people with a good heart.
Be Honest About Everything
If you are always honest about every product or service that you promote, focusing on the problems it solves for your audience you’ll never go wrong. The blog posts you write, the sales pages that you create, everything is designed to give your people great solutions to difficulties they face. If you can remember to focus on solutions, you’ll write honestly about whatever you create or promote in ways that make it easy for people to follow your suggestions or directions and they will appreciate your help.
Under Promise and Over Deliver
TV advertising often focuses on something called “puffery” and that is actually considered an acceptable thing to do in advertising. “This is The BEST Widget You’ll Ever Have”. This is puffery. You really don’t know if it’s the best widget but you say that because right now you believe it to be true.
Personally I prefer to not even say that kind of thing. I say things like “I have found this to be the best widget for the job” and then give examples and reasons. Create marketing and advertising that tells the truth about your product or service and add bonuses to make it even easier, faster or better in some way.
You can make those bonuses a surprise so that when they experience the product or service, they’re blown away by how awesome it is and how much you have helped them.
Creating and promoting products and services that you know to be effective will not require you to do anything sleazy. In fact, when you know about products that can help your audience, not promoting them would be much worse as you are honour bound to bring to your clients’ attention anything that will really serve them.
