We are now looking for that Inspiration we need to kickstart a life of Intention and Purpose. Let’s have a look at where you might find it. Not forgetting that often a very good place to start is to define what it is you DON’T want as you work your way through to the intentions and purpose you will have in the end.

Go for a Walk to Find Inspiration in Nature

A really easy way to find more inspiration in your life is to head outside. Going for a walk provides some unique benefits, from enjoying fresh air to the lack of stress. There are less distractions, and you can often think in a different way than when you are working or doing household things.

You may not realize how great a walk can be for you until you do it. The fresh air, the new environment, and the clear mind put you into another mindset, allowing you to be open and ready for whenever inspiration strikes you next.

Talk to People You Wouldn’t Normally Talk to

Yes, this can be hard and maybe a little awkward, but it works wonders! The more people you interact with on a regular basis, the more open your mind becomes. You talk to people with different backgrounds, lifestyles, and cultures. You learn more about the world outside of your own family or community. It is an amazing way to find inspiration from people you wouldn’t normally have talked to.

Of course, talking through masks is not the easiest thing to initiate but you can join groups, webinars and forums online and invite interaction. I have met the most interesting and inspiring people that way and often they have completely different cultures and political perspectives to my own.

Read Something New

Read a new book, get a random book at the library or bookstore or Amazon; one you wouldn’t normally go for, or change your typical reading genre entirely. If you always seem to navigate toward fiction romances, why not choose something non-fiction, like an autobiography? Read fantasy if you typically like suspense, or go for a lighthearted fiction if you usually read more serious novels. Mixing it up is yet another way to find inspiration by exploring something new and unfamiliar.

It’s pushing the outside rim of your comfort zone until your comfort zone expands.

Get Inspiration From People You Know

The people you already surround yourself with can be a wonderful resource for inspiration. Reach out to friends you haven’t spoken to in a while, schedule a happy hour online or off with co-workers, or spend the afternoon with an older relative. Hear their stories, get their opinions, and just converse with them about anything you want and see what opens up in your mind afterwards.

Use Art and Creative Exploration

A lot of people prefer to use art and other forms of creative expression as a way to be more inspired. It is a way to find more by exploring your inner world through the things you instinctively create. This is something you can do on your own or with a group of friends or family members. Art opens you up to new experiences in a way that your regular daily life just can’t do.

The big things to know that I have found with seeking Inspiration is that it can’t be rushed and you know it when it strikes. So don’t be in a hurry, enjoy the seeking journey, be open and curious and Inspiration will most certainly come.
